Teresa’s artistic journey began with a first-class honours degree in fine arts from Nottingham Trent University in 1996. She further honed her craft through postgraduate studies at Loughborough University, guided by esteemed tutors like John Atkin FRBS and Dan Archer FRBS.
Her fascination with human contradictions was influenced by in-depth studies of cultural practices and insights from anthropologists like Nigel Barley, Mary Douglas, and zoologist Desmond Morris.
Teresa’s artistic style draws inspiration from Baroque aesthetics, with influences from renowned artists like Bernini, Anthony Gormley, Phillip King, Cathy de Monchaux, and Grayson Perry. Her current preference lies in working with bronze, where she skillfully positions figurative forms in precarious stances supported by robust geometric steel structures.
Teresa’s exceptional talent has garnered numerous awards, including recognition from the ‘Mind Body Spirit International Art Competition, Best in Show at APT Deptford in 2015, nomination by Richard Deacon CBE, and prestigious awards at the Chelsea Flower Show and Blenheim.
Her works are showcased and sold through various galleries in the UK and the USA, with a notable presence in the permanent collection of The Robert T Webb Sculpture Park in Georgia, USA. Teresa also undertakes commissioned work, collaborating with esteemed clients such as Juliet Sargeant, Blue Peter, BBC1 and Netflix, Stonewater Housing, AK Designs, Best and Lloyd Lighting Design Ltd., and private patrons.
