Stretching & mounting of tapestries, cross-stitch, canvas paintings & papyrus framing;
CANVAS STRETCHING We can stretch canvases to any size needed. We use standard stretcher bars or custom-made oversized stretcher bars.
Oversize bespoke framing – We can handle extra large artwork framing in October 2021 – THE LOST GUARDIAN ANGEL. A significant brass rubbing of a Knight with his armour (size 66cm x 212.5cm). As a wedding and a retirement present, the couple pop into the gallery for suggestions and ideas to best mount & frame their lovely memories. The story behind this large framing project was the memories of an anniversary holiday. Both completed an art project of brass rubbing a graceful knight in armour in a prayer position. For many years, the forgotten brass rubbing on black cartridge paper rolled up remained stored in a drawer.
Firstly, the brass rubbing on black cartridge art paper was unrolled and mounted onto a conservation acid-free backing board. Due to the size and weight restriction, we suggested replacing the glass with anti-scratching acrylic perplex material. The next problem we had to address was the limited colours available to complete the mounting service. We, therefore, use a natural light wood flat profile 4cm wide that was hand-painted to provide the dark holy green colour together with a gold inner slip to match the tone of the antique gold profile. Another finished project completed to the highest standard to be loved & cherished for many years to share their memories with their family & friends.

Another example of our oversized framing service is four large original modern Nigerian art paintings on canvas sizes 65″ x 40″ (1115mm x 1655mm). The order required custom-made deep stretcher bars, our stretching canvas service, with a floating distress black profile frame. Our customer was satisfied that the order was completed within three weeks of service, and we finally arranged to deliver the order to the client’s home.
