Promilla Luthra Shaw – Indian Soft pastel art & oil painter

Promilla is from Amritsar – India, now living in Ireland for the past seven years. She has had many successful solo shows at various prestigious galleries in Ireland, including the Guinness Hop Store, the Courtyard Gallery, and group shows at the Davis Gallery, the Guinness gallery, Foxrock and the Stable Gallery, Killiney. Before coming to Ireland, she did 21 solo shows in India and completed her doctorate in Fine Arts.

Promilla received a State award for one of her paintings and lectured at the Fine art college.

In 1997, she was awarded a diploma of Excellence at the International art exhibition in Stockholm.
“We are Different “, one of her paintings, was selected for subsequent exhibition in Venice.

Promilla’s collection of paintings in soft pastel on board and her technique of oil on board for the exhibition is an insight into the enigmatic world of Nature and the mysterious depths of the inner self. Every composition expresses a revelation as the eternal quest continues, synchronising turbulence with tranquillity, the dark with the celestial.
